Easy, Antioxidant-rich Chocolate Dipped Strawberries (GF, V)

There is nothing like a chocolatey dessert that satisfies our sweet tooth, while also providing incredible benefits for our health. Enter: Homemade Dark Chocolate Dipped Strawberries.

As I mentioned previously this week, cacao is full of natural antioxidants called Flavonoids, which help protect our bodies from heart disease, cancer, and stroke. Combine cacao with the high levels of antioxidants found in strawberries ("Polyphenols"), and you've got yourself a power couple!

Here is my recipe for homemade chocolate dipped strawberries:

(They're refined sugar-free too!)

Ingredients:

- 1 container organic strawberries

- 2 Tbs coconut oil

- 1 Tbs nut creamy butter of choice (I used sunbutter)

- 3 Tbs coconut sugar

- 1/4 cup raw cacao powder

Directions:

Rinse strawberries well, then drain, and dry off. Lay parchment paper down on a baking sheet, and set aside. In a pot over the stove (you can do this in the microwave too), heat coconut oil, nut butter, and coconut sugar over low heat, and stir together. Mix in the cacao powder, and stir together well until smooth. Remove from heat and carefully dip strawberries into the melted chocolate, and lay on baking sheet with parchment paper. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden. Remove from refrigerator, plate, and serve!

Enjoy these with your significant other, spouse, parents, children, best friends, or most importantly, Y-O-U.

Happy Valentine's Day!
